Why do we shoot street photography and what is it we do shoot?

According to Reuben Radding in the You Tube video entitled “The musicality of Photography in NYC” we shoot because everything we shoot is going away.

He has a lot to say about why we shoot street photography. As he says you’ll hear lots of people claim what they’re doing is documenting. But what’s it really is a search for being purposeful and shooting what has “meaning”.

But what Raddiing says is we can find even more meaning without the limitations of thinking we’re documenting.

We can avoid thinking the world needs to look a certain way.

But we are in the real world and yes documenting happens but as photographers we can find new things that are even more interesting.
