FaceBook is crammed full of opinionated people who love to dump all of their projections and discomfort and hate with the world on street photographers who shoot what’s called “poverty porn”.
A guy who calls himself Suitcase Joe is a LA street photographer who just might change your mind about shooting street people, the less fortunate and the homeless and those without hope.
His photography is sensitive, respectful and very very interesting. There’s an intelligence about it that isn’t exploitive but says very simply that his subjects who, yes live out on the streets, are deserving of having their images posted and their stories told just like anyone else.
