I would think it likely some people will find the images in my Dachau gallery upsetting. Some might even question the posting of these images. Some may ask why?

But I would reply more than saying “why not” I would say it’s essential.

Our amazing tour guide who has been guiding tour groups through the gates of Dachau for more than 20 years. During our tour many myths and misinformation were explained. Questions were asked and answered. Nothing was held back.

I won’t describe each image and its significance to the horrors of Dachau as I think for the most part they are self-explanatory. What you will see in the gallery is exactly what it looks like.

But I will comment on two images:

One is of the tour group shot from behind as we made our way shaken with many in tears back to our bus. In that shot of a group of tourists is my wife and like most of the images I find the photo upsetting even now;

The other image I’d make comment upon is the one where our tour guide is describing how the poison that killed so many was poured into the receptacles along the wall.

And then she said to us that where we were standing was on the remains of millions of people murdered at Dachau.

I did not want to go to Dachau and didn’t make my final decision to go until the last moment. I am so grateful for the awful experience of it all.
