Getting It Right In Camera

Do you want to create better images anywhere with any camera in any light? Don’t we all but too often I’m seeing images that I don’t like especially on social media photography sites.

On FaceBook, where every question can be answered by recommending more gear, the level of basic photography is often appauling.

So what do I mean by all this?

I think Craig Roberts says it best in this short YouTube video “How can I help with your photography?

Craig starts by claiming he doesn’t shoot sunrises and he doesn’t shoot sunsets. He avoids what he calls “honey pot locations” and he doesn’t have a drone and he’s never been to Iceland. He’s avoiding what he calls “popular” photography.

After 20 years of shooting pro he now shoots with a pretty basic 20-meg digital camera with a 40 mm prime lens shooting at f/8. He doesn’t focus stack or shoot multiple HDR images. He’s against mass appeal images.

Is there more to photography? Do his photos speak for themselves? Watch Craig’s video and see if he answers the questions.
