Are You Framing And Layering Your Images?

According to The Photographic Eye YouTube channel street photography right now is a bit of a hot mess.

I totally agree.

So much that I see posted on Facebook or Instagram is just dribble and that’s being kind.

So how do we elevate our images to the quality of someone like Stephen Shore whose bland calm images of Americana look like snapshots until you understand what Shore was really doing.

Or how are you framing your images?

Look at Mark Seymour’s images of India. He is a master of framing. There’s lots happening in his images but it is his framing is what makes his images special.

Can you see in my image above of a street scene in my hometown of Oakville Ontario what I am trying to do?
